New: Send messages across iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram & 10 more networks from Rebel

Rebel can now send and receive messages across 13+ messaging networks — iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn, Google Chat, and more — all from a single conversation.

This is powered by a new Beeper connector, available from v0.4.14.

See it in action

What can you do with it?

A few examples:

  • “Send Steph a WhatsApp saying I’ll be 10 minutes late”
  • “Check my unread Telegram messages”
  • “Search my iMessage conversations for the restaurant Sarah recommended”
  • “List my recent chats”

It supports 12 tools including sending messages, reading conversations, searching across networks, and listing chats — so it’s not just one-way.

How it works

Beeper is a unified messaging app backed by Automattic (the company behind WordPress). It bridges your messaging accounts into one place. Rebel connects to Beeper running locally on your machine — no data leaves your device.

Setup (takes ~2 minutes)

  1. Download Beeper Desktop and sign in
  2. Connect your messaging accounts inside Beeper (WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, etc.)
  3. Enable the Beeper API: In Beeper Desktop, go to Settings → Advanced → Enable Local API
  4. Add the connector in Rebel: Go to Settings → Connectors, search for “Beeper”, and click to enable
  5. Start messaging! Ask Rebel to send a message and it’ll route through Beeper

Good to know

  • :white_check_mark: Privacy-first: Everything runs locally. Your messages stay on your machine.
  • :white_check_mark: Works with any network Beeper supports: If you can connect it in Beeper, Rebel can use it.
  • :warning: WhatsApp note: Beeper uses an unofficial bridge for WhatsApp (like all third-party WhatsApp integrations). There’s a small risk Meta could restrict accounts using unofficial bridges, though this is rare in practice.

Origin story

This actually came from the community! A member shared a the Beeper mcp as a custom mcp setup back in January. So thank you for the inspiration :raised_hands:

We’d love to hear how you use this — drop a reply if you try it out, or if you run into any issues during setup!
